Project Description

The clients, Mrs. Panna and Mr. Nikhil Merchant, entrusted HCPID with designing their homes. Oeuvre 201 is a unique project, where the clients requested us to re-use and incorporate a few heirloom items to create a reflection of the family’s roots in their new abode.

HCPID’s role in this project was to blend vintage elements with modern pieces creatively, achieving a harmonious balance. The colour palette was abstracted from the essence of an Indian home, derived from the everyday spice box integral to all Indian homes. The vestibule greets warmly with bold patterns in subtle colours - encasing all the electrical units yet presenting a very aesthetic front. The yellow tones of the informal living area compliment natural light coming in from the balcony brightening up the entire room. In contrast, the exquisite existing silk hand-knotted carpet with a heavy furniture piece, were balanced with a modern and neutral styling of furniture to give an elegant and posh look to the formal living room.

The other spaces in the apartment dance along on this fine rope of modern & elegant Indian interiors. Added like a cherry on top to these rich interiors, artworks in Oeuvre 201 create a shifting focal point in repetitive spaces and a unique element to ponder upon.
